As per regulations, small cap funds invest in companies starting from the 251st rank in market cap. Small-cap funds carry a high level of risk. However, there is expectation of rapid growth in the business of companies. Fund houses identify companies for investment on the basis of their growth assessment.

Nippon India Small Cap Fund
The average SIP return of Nippon India Small Cap Fund in the last 5 years has been 35.8 percent per annum. The value of monthly investment of Rs 10,000 in this scheme increased to Rs 14.35 lakh in 5 years. The minimum investment in this scheme is Rs 5000. Whereas the minimum SIP is Rs 1000.
HSBC Small Cap Fund
