The IT major TCS has completed its 20 powerful years on the D-Street after making its stock market debut on August 25, 2004. The stock since then has been rewarding investors through various routes, including buybacks, dividend and bonus shares.
In 20 years, the company's m-cap has seen exorbitant gains and has moved from Rs 41,000 crore to now top Rs 16.4 lakh crore.

How has TCS rewarded its shareholders over the years?
As per Zee Business research desk inputs, the company so far has announced 5 share buybacks and 3 bonus share issuance. The last buyback was announced by the IT major in November 2023, while the last 1:1 bonus was announced in 2018.
The desk inputs highlight that after 13.5 years, the company's m-cap for the first time crossed $100 billion mark in 2018. And after that in just 4 years, the m-cap has soared 2 times.
Furthermore, an investor who would have invested Rs 10,000 in TCS IPO, his 100 shares will be now worth as much as Rs 4.5 lakh, offering an annual CAGR of over 20 per cent.

The company's stock after adjusting for the bonus price is currently above Rs 4,500 as against the issue price of Rs 106.25 per share. In contrast the headline indices Sensex and Nifty have delivered an annual CGAR of 14.8 per cent and 15.5 per cent, respectively. In trade on August 26, shares of TCS amid broader gains in the Nifty IT index ended nearly 1 per cent higher at Rs 4,506 apiece.
