Stocks to watch: At around 8:09 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, the GIFT Nifty futures traded 0.8 points lower at 19,851 suggesting a flat opening of the market.

Benchmark Sensex rose by 393 points while Nifty closed above the 19,800 level on Wednesday on buying in energy, FMCG and capital goods shares amid mixed global cues and easing inflation concerns.

Rising for the second straight session, the 30-share Sensex spurted by 393.69 points or 0.6 per cent to close at 66,473.05, with 24 of its constituents ending in the green. Six stocks declined.

The broader Nifty of the NSE advanced 121.50 points or 0.62 per cent to settle at 19,811.35, as 37 index shares gained while 12 declined and one closed unchanged.

Results today, October 12: HCL Technologies, Infosys, HDFC AMC, Anand Rathi Wealth, Angel One, and Kesoram Industries will announce their result for the second quarter (Q2FY24) today. 

TCS: Tata Consultancy Services reported a 2.4 per cent sequential increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 11,342 crore for the quarter ended September 30.

The Tata Group IT major's board also approved a buyback worth Rs 17,000 crore as well as a dividend of Rs 9 per share.

The results were announced post-market close and will be on the investor radar on Thursday.

Aurobindo Pharma: The pharma company said that CuraTeQ Biologics Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma, along with its subsidiary(ies), has been in discussions with Merck Sharp & Dohme Singapore Trading Pte. Ltd. and its affiliates for CMO operations.

The parties have also signed a limited Letter of Intent in this regard.

The parties under the said LOI intend to conclude the negotiations by March 31, 2024, Aurobindo Pharma said in a statement.

Cipla: Speaking about InvaGen Pharmaceuticals Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company located in Central Islip, Long Island, USA, Cipla said on Wednesday that it had received the EIR (Establishment Inspection Report) from the USFDA on the classification of the inspection as Voluntary Action Indicated.

RVNL: RVNL emerged as the lowest bidder for the 'TRC: Sukhovi-Pherima: Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Integrated Tunnel Communication' system in the Sukhovi-Pherima new single line section of Lumding Division.

Vedanta Ltd: Vedanta on Wednesday incorporated its wholly-owned subsidiary Vedanta Base Metals.

Maruti Suzuki: Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday said that it had started exports of its much-loved off-roader, Jimny 5-Door.

The vehicle will be shipped to destinations including Latin America, Middle East, and Africa regions. Unveiled at Auto Expo 2023, the Jimny 5-Door is manufactured exclusively in India.

Plaza Wires: Shares of the company will be listed on BSE and NSE today. 

Delta Corp: The company recorded a revenue of Rs 271 crore against Rs 270 crore, up 0.4 per cent year-on-year (YoY). The profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 69.5 crore against Rs 68.3 crore, up 1.8 per cent a year ago. 

Samhi Hotels: The company recorded a revenue of Rs 190 crore against  Rs 169 crore, up 12.4 per cent in Q1. It incurred a loss of Rs 83 crore against a loss of 101 crore a year ago, down 18 per cent. 

Signatureglobal: The company recorded a loss of Rs 7 crore against a profit of Rs 33 crore YoY. The revenue was down 69.4 per cent at Rs 166 crore against Rs 542 crore a year ago.

Zaggle: The company recorded a standalone revenue of Rs 118 crore against 88.6 crore, up 33.6 per cent a year ago in Q1. The PAT stood at Rs 2 crore against Rs 6 crore, down 68 per cent. 

Plastiblends: The company recorded a revenue of Rs 210 crore against Rs 180 crore, up 16.7 per cent. The PAT stood at Rs 9.5 crore against Rs 4.2 crore, up 2.2 times.

Sula Vineyard: Leading wine producer Sula Vineyards Ltd on Wednesday said its net revenue from its own brands has grown to Rs 116.2 crore in the September quarter, registering an increase of 14 per cent. 

IT stocks: TCS delivers mixed results and brokerage also has reacted mixed. The buyback price for TCS is lower than estimated. Among other IT companies, Infosys and HCL Technologies deliver results today. Infosys ADR is  down 1.3 per cent. 

Patanjali Foods: The company in the monthly update said that its rural demand was sluggish due to persistent inflation and, an increase in prices of essential commodities in Q2. Strong demand is expected in the FMCG business during the festive season. More imports of edible oil put pressure on pricing. 

Britannia: Demand for Britannia biscuits increased before the World Cup and festive season. Biscuit demand increased by 13-15 per cent till October 10.

EMS Ltd: The company received an order worth Rs 271 crore.

Vascon Engineers Ltd: The company received a Letter of Acceptance amounting to Rs. 352.91 crore from Jharkhand State Building Construction Corporation Limited. 

Shakti Pumps: The company's board approved an investment of Rs 114 crore in its subsidiary, Shakti EV Mobility. 

MOIL Limited: QUANT MUTUAL FUND GILT FUND bought 11 lakh shares at Rs 226.80 per share of the company.

Gulf Oil Corp: FPI AVIATOR GLOBAL INVESTMENT FUND sold 4.50 lakh shares at Rs 510.30 per share. The stake of Aviator Global reduced to 0.89 per cent from 1.80 per cent. 

Yatra Online Limited: INTEGRATED CORE STRATEGIES ASIA PTE LTD sold 10.80 lakh shares at 139.98 per share.
