Stocks to watch: Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Power Company Limited, said on Wednesday that it would set up a 41 MW captive solar plant at Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Karnataka Bank on Wednesday launched a doorstep gold loan facility named 'KBL-Swarna Bandhu' for its customers.
Stocks to watch: At around 8:12 am on Thursday, September 28, the GIFT Nifty futures traded 13.65 points, or 0.07 per cent, lower at 19,706, suggesting a flat-to-negative start to trading on Dalal Street.
In the previous session, the benchmark index Sensex rebounded from early lows to settle higher by 173 points, following buying in Reliance Industries, Larsen & Toubro, and ITC and positive trends in Asian and European markets. The 30-share BSE Sensex rose by 173.22 points, or 0.26 per cent, to settle at 66,118.69, with 20 of its components ending in the green and 10 closing lower.
The index opened lower and fell further to a low of 65,549.96 in the morning trade. However, buying in Reliance, L&T, Infosys, and Maruti helped it recover losses. Later, it jumped 226.8 points, or 0.34 per cent, to a high of 66,172.27.

Tata Power: Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Company Limited, said on Wednesday that it would set up a 41 MW captive solar plant at Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, for TP Solar Limited's (TP Solar) new greenfield 4.3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.
"The captive plant will help generate 101 million units of electricity and offset around 72,000 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. The captive solar project will be commissioned 12 months from the signing of the project development agreement," TPREL said in a BSE filing on Wednesday.
Power Grid Corporation: PowerGrid announced on Wednesday that it had acquired Ananthpuram Kurnool Transmission Limited (the Project SPV) to establish the 'Transmission Scheme for Solar Energy Zone in Ananthpuram (Ananthapur) (2500 MW) and Kurnool (1000 MW), Andhra Pradesh. The company said that the acquisition cost of the project is Rs 19.99 crore.
"The project comprises the establishment of a new 400/220 kV pooling station at a suitable border location between Ananthpuram and Kurnool (in Andhra Pradesh) and 02 nos. of 400 kV D/C Transmission Lines traversing in the state of Andhra Pradesh and associated bay extension works," PowerGrid said in a statement on Wednesday.
Karnataka Bank: Karnataka Bank on Wednesday launched a doorstep gold loan facility named 'KBL-Swarna Bandhu' for its customers, a product for gold loans with end-to-end digitisation.
"Initially, this product will be available to customers in select centres of the bank and will be gradually rolled out to all the branches of the bank," Karnataka Bank said in a statement on Wednesday.
Shipping sector stocks: The government on Wednesday exempted payments made for goods imported through ocean freight from 5 per cent integrated GST, with effect from October 1.
The Finance Ministry has notified changes to the IGST Act with regard to the payment of integrated GST on 'ocean freight' on imported goods with effect from October 1.
After the decision, shipping stocks such as Adani Ports & SEZ, Shreyas Shipping & Logistics, and Shipping Corporation of India will be in focus.
Telecom stocks: According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, a total of 26.7 lakh customers were added in July. Individually, RJio added 39.1 lakh customers in July, Bharti Airtel added 15.2 lakh customers in July, Voda-Idea lost 13.2 lakh customers in July, and BSNL lost 14.1 lakh customers in July.
ICICI Lombard: Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax (GST) Intelligence, Pune, issued a show cause notice worth Rs 1,728 crore to the company.
MCX: MCX will shift to a new trading platform on October 3.
Dixon Tech: The company's subsidiary, Padget Electronics, signed an agreement with 'Xiaomi' for smartphone manufacturing.
Oberoi Realty: The company signed an agreement for the development of 13,450 square metres of land in Mumbai, Tardeo.
Shalimar Paints: Public shareholder Hella Infra Market made an open offer at Rs 165 per share to buy 2.17 crore shares (26 per cent equity).
NBCC: The company will sell 14.75 lakh sq ft of space in the World Trade Centre in Delhi for Rs 5716.43 crore through e-auction. The e-auction will be held on October 23.
Venkys: The company's promoter, Venkateshwara Hatcheries Pvt Ltd bought 61175 shares (0.43 per cent) at Rs 1969.75 per share and increased his stake to 51.45 per cent from 51.02 per cent.
L&T: Brokerage house UBS maintained a 'buy' and raised the target to Rs 3,600 apiece from Rs 3,040 apiece.
Oil & Gas / Paint / Tyre companies: Crude oil crossed $97 and rose more than 2.5 per cent overnight.
