Equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty surrendered early gains to close with deep losses on Monday, snapping their two-day winning streak as investors pared exposure to banking, metal, and FMCG stocks amid a weak trend in global markets. The 30-share BSE Sensex tanked 670.93 points, or 0.93 per cent, to settle at 71,355.22. The Nifty declined 197.80 points, or 0.91 per cent, to 21,513.

Tata Steel

The record date for the merger of Tata Steel and The Tinplate Company of India Limited (TCIL) has been fixed for Friday, January 19, 2024.

Adani Enterprises

The Arbitral Tribunal has pronounced the award for the company's subsidiary Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), where it has excused MAIL from making payment of the Monthly Annual Fee (MAF) for the period from March 13, 2020, to February 28, 2022, due to the existence of force majeure.

Accordingly, the amount of MAF paid by MIAL to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the period March 13, 2020, to February 28, 2022, is ordered to be refunded along with interest.

Tata Motors
