Stocks to watch on Thursday, January 18: LTIMindtree's net profit for the third quarter ended on December 31 stood at Rs 1169.3 crore against Rs 1000.7 crore Year-on-Year (YoY).
Stocks to watch on Thursday, January 18: At 8:13 AM, GIFT Nifty futures traded 183.05 points, or 0.85 per cent, lower at 21,405.5, indicating a negative start for domestic equities today. Benchmark Sensex nosedived 1,628 points or 2.23 per cent on Wednesday, marking its biggest single-day slide in more than one and a half years following an intense sell-off in banking, metal, and oil stocks, triggered by weak global trends.
The 30-share BSE Sensex plunged 1,628.01 points or 2.23 per cent to settle at 71,500.76 with 24 of its constituents ending in the red. The Nifty tanked 460.35 points or 2.09 per cent to settle at 21,571.95, falling for the second day in a row.
Here are some stocks that will be in focus on Thursday, January 18:
HDFC Bank:
The company's ADR slipped 9 per cent in the overnight trade after a heavy sell-off in the domestic market in the previous session as the lender's Q3 result disappointed investor sentiment.
Oracle Financial:
The company reported a strong set of numbers for the December quarter. Revenue jumped 26 per cent while the net profit surged 78 per cent. Margins increased to 46.6 per cent.
LTIMindtree:
The company's net profit for the third quarter ended on December 31 stood at Rs 1169.3 crore against Rs 1000.7 crore Year-on-Year (YoY) and Rs 1162.3 crore quarter-on-quarter (QoQ). The IT company's revenue stood at Rs 9016.6 crore against Rs 8905.4 crore for the quarter ended September 30.
IIFL Finance:
The company recorded a consolidated net profit of Rs 545.19 crore for the third quarter ended December 31 against Rs 423.21 crore a year ago. The revenue for the quarter under review stood at Rs 2,647.48 crore against Rs 2,120.86 crore year-on-year (YoY).
Avenue Supermarts:
The company opened two new stores on Wednesday at Velan Mall, Tirupur (Tamilnadu), and Sehore (Madhya Pradesh). The total number of the company's stores as on Wednesday stood at 344.
Intellect Design Arena:
he company will set up a unit (branch office) in GIFT City SEZ.
Nazara Technologies:
The company's board approved raising over Rs 249 crore on a preferential basis. Nazara Technologies will also acquire a 10.77 per cent stake in Kofluence Tech Private. The board also approved increasing the limits to provide a loan guarantee of Rs 1500 crore.
Sobha:
The real estate company's board will consider fundraising by way of equity shares through a rights issue in a meeting on January 12.
Persistent Systems:
The board will consider a proposal of alteration in the share capital of the company by sub-division/split of the existing shares in a meeting on January 20.
Honasa Consumer:
Mamaearth, the flagship brand under Honasa Consumer Limited, launched its 100th exclusive brand outlet (EBO) in Mumbai.
ICICI Prudential:
The company's December quarter results were weak. VNB margin came in at 26.7 per cent against 32 per cent. Profit stood at Rs 227 crore against the estimate of Rs 245 crore. Net premium income was up 4.9 per cent.
NHPC:
The government will sell a 3.5 per cent stake via OFS. The floor price has been set at around nearly Rs 66 per share. The OFS will be open for two days, January 18 and 19. Retail investors can participate in the OFS on January 19.
InterGlobe Aviation, Spikejet, and Adani Enterprises:
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security has imposed a fine on these entities. There has been imposed a penalty worth Rs 1.2 crore on India, while for Spicejet and Mumbai International Airport, the penalty amount is around Rs 30 lakh and Rs 90 lakh.
Happiest Minds:
The company posted mixed results with revenues inching higher by 0.8 per cent, while profit at the company surged 1.9 per cent on year.
Welspun Corp:
The company's associate company EPIC has won an order valued at Rs 3000 crore.
Kirloskar Oil Engines:
The company has received an order worth Rs 768 crore from Nuclear Power Corporation of India.
RailTel Corporation of India:
The railways company has secured an order estimated to be Rs 82.42 crore from the South Central Railway.
Speciality Restaurant:
The hotel company posted mixed performance, with margins falling sharply. The margins at the company came in at 20.3 per cent versus 24.1 per cent, while profit decline 13 per cent on year.
Q3FY24 results to be announced
Gujarat Alkalies:
In a meeting on February 1, 2024, the company will consider financial results for the quarter and nine months that ended December 31, 2023.
RITES:
The board will consider third-quarter financial results and a third interim dividend on February 1.
Piramal Pharma:
The company will consider Q3 results in a meeting on January 30.
Orient Cement:
The board will consider Q3FY24 results and an interim dividend in a meeting on February 5.
SBI Card:
The company's board will consider Q3 results in a meeting on January 25.
