Stocks to watch on Thursday: At 7:45 am, GIFT Nifty traded 70 points, or 0.32 per cent higher, at 21,760, indicating a positive start for domestic equities today.
Sensex and Nifty soared to fresh closing highs on Wednesday, December 27, with the 30-share benchmark index crossing the historic 72,000 mark for the first time, thanks to optimism around the country's macroeconomic fundamentals and firm global market trends.
The S&P BSE Sensex settled 701.63 points, or 0.98 per cent, higher at 72,038.43, and the NSE Nifty was up 213.4 points, or 1 per cent, at 21,654.75. Meanwhile, the Nifty Mid Cap 100 and Small Cap 100 closed in positive territory. Nifty Bank was up 1.17 per cent at 48,282.2 after recording a fresh high in the session.

Suzlon Energy:
The Rajasthan Goods and Services Tax (GST) Department, while confirming a demand of tax and interest, imposed a penalty of Rs 1,36,05,479 upon Suzlon Energy Limited on the ground that the company had claimed excess input tax credit (ITC) of GST during FY2017–18.
The company is in the process of filing an appeal before the Appellate Authority.
KPI Green Energy
The company commissioned solar power projects totalling 17.35 MWp with its subsidiary, KPIG Energia Private Limited. Additionally, the company will deliberate on the issuance of bonus shares together with increasing its authorised capital in its meeting on December 30.
Bank and financial services stocks
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released a report on banking and NBFC trends in FY23, which showed that the Indian banking system was well positioned to improve further.
Exide Industries
The company invested over Rs 39 crore by way of subscription in the equity share capital of its subsidiary, Exide Energy Solutions Limited. The transaction is done on a rights basis.
Delta Corp
Shares of the company will be off the F&O ban list as of March 1, 2024.
Zomato:
The food delivery services company has received a tax liability notice of Rs 402 crore.
Canara Bank
The company's mutual fund subsidiary, Canara Robecco AMC, will be listed via the IPO route. The company's board has given its approval to initiate the listing process.
Kotak Mahindra Bank
CS Rajan will join the lender as its part-time chairman for two years, with effect from January 1, 2024. Currently, he is the independent director at the bank.
South Indian Bank
The bank's board approved fund-raising to the tune of Rs 1,750 crore through a rights issue.
Credo Brands
SI Investments bought 7.5 lakh shares in the company at Rs 308.73 per share, while Societe Generale bought 4.5 lakh shares at Rs 305.48 per share.
Sula Vineyard:
The company's wine tourism facility in Nasik and Bengaluru have attracted visitors. During Christmas, wine tourism saw an excessive rise, and in three days, the company registered a total income of Rs 2.28 crore.
Suprajit Engineering
HDFC Mutual Fund, via the open market, purchased 29.2 lakh shares in the company. The entity's share in the auto major increased to 7.03 per cent from the earlier 5.07 per cent.
Indiabulls Housing
Today is the last day for the company in the F&O ban segment.
