Stocks to watch on Thursday: At 8:22 am, GIFT Nifty traded 53.5 points, or 0.25 per cent higher, at 21,143, indicating a positive start for domestic equities on December 21.
The domestic benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex reversed gains and ended sharply lower on Wednesday, December 20, as investors booked profits in the recent outperformers.
After a series of bull-dominated sessions, Wednesday's trade belonged to bears. The S&P BSE Sensex finished 1.3 per cent or 930.88 points, lower at 70,506.31, and NSE Nifty was down 1.41 per cent, or 302.95 points, at 21,150.15.
Here are some stocks that will be in focus on Thursday, December 21:
Sonata Software
Sonata Software has signed a strategic partnership with AMMEGA Group. The partnership will aim at increasing transparency in performance, improving collaboration and efficiency, reducing complexities in the IT landscape, and fostering digital innovations for business growth.
Cochin Shipyard
The company signed a contract with the Defence Ministry for a value of Rs. 488.25 crore. The work package includes repair and maintenance of the equipment and systems onboard the naval vessel.
DLF
As per a report by PTI, realty firm DLF Ltd said it had sold independent floors and commercial plots for around Rs 1,400 crore in Gurugram and Panchkula, in Haryana, amid strong property demand.
Raymond
Raymond Lifestyle Limited, a subsidiary of Raymond Limited, said on Wednesday that it had incorporated ‘Ten X Realty East Limited’ to undertake redevelopment projects.
Selan Exploration Technology
The company has received a letter conveying the approval of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India, for the transfer of 100 per cent participating interest from PFH Oil and Gas Private Limited to the company.
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders
The company signed contracts with a European client for the construction of three units of 7,500 DWT multi-purpose hybrid-powered vessels. The contract is valued at approximately $42 million.
Manali Petrochemicals
The company resumed the entire operations of Plant 2 in Manali and commenced partial operations of Plant 1 in Manali. The company is in the process of restoring other manufacturing units in Plant 1.
The operations were curbed due to Cyclone Michaung.
Tarson Products
The medical product and supplies company will acquire Nerbe R&D GmbH & Nerbe plus GmbH & Co for around Rs 135 crore.
Adani Green Energy
The company will consider raising funds in its board meeting on December 26 via the issuance of equity shares or convertible securities.
Flair Writing Industries:
After a recent listing, the stationery major reported mixed results, with profit growing 3 per cent year-on-year (YoY), while revenue inched higher by just 4 per cent.
Shriram Pistons & Rings
In the NSE-listed scrip, Abakkus Funds bought 34.63 lakh shares at Rs 1,103.6 per share.
Nippon Life:
IndusInd Bank sold 1.78 crore (2.8 per cent) shares at Rs 445.35 apiece, while there were 10 buyers in total in the scrip. ICICI Prudential bought 63.8 lakh (1.02 per cent) shares at Rs 445.35 per share, while SBI MF bought 77.82 lakh (1.24 per cent) shares at Rs 445.35 apiece.
JSW Steel, Coal India, Hindalco, and Tata Steel
Steel stocks will gain traction after global brokerage Jefferies raised its target price on these stocks while maintaining the earlier rating.
