Domestic equity indices Nifty 50 and Sensex advanced on Friday, December 8, after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) stood pat on key rates for a fifth consecutive time and raised its growth forecast for fiscal 2023-2024. Financial stocks and information technology (IT) shares were at the forefront, resulting in a stellar market rally.

The NSE Nifty 50 index ended 68.25 points, or 0.33 per cent, higher at 20,969.4 and the S&P BSE Sensex finished the day with a gain of 303.91 points, or 0.44 per cent at 69,825.6—both record-closing highs—after scaling record highs during the session. Nifty 50 clocked the 21,000 mark for the first time just around the RBI outcome announcement.

Here are some stocks that will be in focus on Monday, December 11:

Wipro: 

Stephanie Trautman resigned as Chief Growth Officer of the company due to personal reasons. 

BSE: 

The board approved an investment of up to Rs 30 crore by BSE Investments Limited by subscribing to their rights issue.

Blue Dart Express: 

The board approved the purchase of two leased aircraft by Blue Dart Aviation Ltd. (BOAL), a subsidiary of the company from DHL Aviation (Netherlands) B.V. (DHL NL) amounting to around Rs 40 crore. 

Persistent Systems: 

Clarifying on the reports about the company in talks to acquire NSE's IT arm, Persistent Systems through filing said it does not comment on such speculative reports or news. 

Shoppers Stop: 

MyGlamm collaborates with Shoppers Stop for the launch of MyGlamm POUT which will be available across all Shoppers Stop retail outlets and further enhance the brand’s visibility across stores. 

TVS Motor:

In TVS Motosoul 2023, which is a two-day festival for motorcycles organised by TVS Motor Company, the company announced a collaboration with Alpinestars and unveiled seven newly launched flagship motorcycles, TVS Apache RTR 310, and TVS Ronin models. 

Spandana Sphoorty Financial Limited:

The board will consider the issue and offer Non-Convertible Debentures on a private placement basis in a meeting on December 13, 2023.

Madras Fertilizers: 

The company's plant in Chennai has been shut down since December 4, 2023, due to heavy rain and cyclone winds caused by cyclone “Michaung”. The tentative start-up of the plant is expected within two to four weeks and we shall inform you when the operations are resumed. 

Neuland Laboratories: 

Promoter Davuluri Rama Mohan Rao sold 4,00,000 equity shares of the company which translates to a 3.12 per cent stake on December 8, through the open market at an average price of Rs. 5,012.45 apiece. 

Bondada Engineering:

The company got authorisation for the placement of a work order from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) of over Rs 18 crore. 

Lloyds Metals and Energy:

The board approved the expansion of the iron ore mining capacity of the company up to 55 Million Tonnes Per Annum. It also approved the establishment of 45 Million Tonnes Per Annum Banded Hematite Quartzite (“BHQ”) Beneficiation Plant Hedri, District Gadchiroli, and three Million Tonnes Per Annum Integrated Steel Plant at Konsari, District Gadchiroli.

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders 

The defence company has received an order valued at Rs 1145 crore from ONGC for 44.4 kms subsea pipeline project.

Tata Motors/Ashok Leyland /Eicher Moto + Subros & Amber Enterprises:

As per the road transport ministry notification, all N2 and N3 category trucks will have an AC installed in the driver cabin with effect from October 1, 2025. Also, for Tata Motors, prices of commercial vehicles shall see an increase from the new year across ranges. 

TVS Motor:

The company has launched a new bike in the 160 cc segment- TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.  In Tamil Nadu, the bike's ex-showroom price is Rs 1.34 lakh.

Dr Reddy's Laboratories:

The company's Hyderabad facility has received 3 observations. The USFDA conducted GMP, pre-approval inspection at the company's unit between December 4- December 8.

United Spirits/Radico Khaitan/ GM Breweries/Som Distilleries/Tilaknagar Industries:

The breweries company will gain focus as media reports suggest that Coco Cola India has forayed in the alcohol segment. The company has announced the launch of Lemon Dou which is produced using Japanese liquor.

Oberoi Realty

Morgan Stanley has downgraded the counter to underweight from the earlier equalweight call. The target of the real estate major is raised to Rs 1180 from the earlier Rs 885. 

Zomato

In a block deal, 18 buyers both global and local funds bought over 1 per cent equity in the food services player. 

GMR Airports Infrastructure 

In block deal, GQG Partners, Goldman Sachs Trust and Nomura India Investment bought stake in the infra major. Also, the airport hiked its charged at Goa Airport.

Spicejet

In its board meeting, the company will consider fundraising. Reports suggest that one or 2 big funds may show interest in the airline.
