Stock market today: Benchmark equity indices slipped in red territory on Friday, June 21 dragged by financial, oil & gas stocks. The 30-share BSE Sensex declined 269.03 points or 0.35 per cent to settle at 77,209.9. NSE Nifty slipped 65.9 points or 0.28 per cent to settle at 23,501.1, after scaling a fresh all-time high of 23,667.1 during the trade.

Among the Nifty companies, 32 were declining while 18 were advancing.

UltraTech Cement, Adani Enterprises, L&T, Nestle India, and Tata Motors were the top decliners in the Nifty 50 universe while Bharti Airtel, LTIMindtree, Hindalco, Shriram Finance, and Tata Steel led the gains.

The domestically focussed Nifty SmallCap100 was down 0.17 per cent, while Nifty MidCap100 settled flat, down 0.08 per cent. 

The high-beta Nifty Bank index, whose 12 constituents include SBI, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank finished 0.24 per cent or 121.8 points lower at 51,661.45.

Global Market

European shares fell on Friday, as technology and bank stocks came under pressure. Last seen, the pan-European STOXX 600 was down 0.84 per cent.
