Stock market today: Domestic equity benchmarks finished at record closing highs on Friday, June 14 amid broad-based buying, barring Nifty IT, continuing their uptrend from the previous sessions, primarily due to a moderation in inflation in May - both in India and the United States.

The 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 181.87 points or 0.24 per cent to settle at record 76,992.77.NSE Nifty rallied 66.7 points or 0.29 per cent to settle at a record 23,465.6, after scaling a fresh all-time high of 23,490.4. 

Among the Nifty companies, 28 were advancing while 22 were declining. Eicher Motors, Adani Ports, Mahindra & Mahindra  (M&M), Shriram Finance, and Titan led the gains in the Nifty 50 universe. while Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Wipro, and HCL Technologies were the top decliners.

The high-beta Nifty Bank index, whose 12 constituents include SBI, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank finished 155.3 points or 0.31 per cent or points higher at 50,002.

Meanwhile, the domestically focussed Nifty SmallCap 100 and Nifty MidCap100 settled 0.76 and 1.05 per cent higher.

Global Market

Global shares were mixed on Friday after Wall Street touched fresh records, with benchmarks pushed higher by the frenzy over artificial intelligence technology.

Last seen, the pan-European STOXX 600 was down 0.8 per cent.
