Stock market holidays in May 2023: There will be no action on the bourses on Monday, May 1. Both the leading exchanges NSE and will BSE will remain closed on account of Maharashtra Day as per the holiday calendar available on the BSE. As per the BSE, the Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment and SLB Segment as well as the Currency Derivatives Segment and Interest Rate Derivatives segments will also remain shut on May 1.

Maharashtra Day commemorates the formation of the state in India on May 1, 1960, from the division of the Bombay State.Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) will also remain closed for trading in the morning sessions i.e., 9 AM to 5 PM. However, India's first listed exchange will remain open for the evening session i.e., 5 PM to 11:30 PM /11:55 PM.
