SJVN stock hits a lower circuit after PSU reports poor third quarter results

SJVN Share Price: SJVN shares hit a lower circuit of 19.99 per cent on BSE on Monday (February 12, 2024) after the hydroelectric power generation and transmission firm reported weak December quarter results.

The SJVN stock ended the trading session on Monday lower by 19.99 per cent, or Rs 28.10, at Rs 112.50.

The stock that closed at Rs 140.60 on Friday opened at Rs 122.25 on Monday morning. It reached the day's high of Rs 130.65 and hit the day's low of Rs 114.70.

For the December quarter, whose results were announced on Saturday, the company's consolidated profit after tax (PAT) slipped by 51.57 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 139 crore against Rs 287 crore logged in the year-ago period.

SJVN's revenue from operations slipped by 1.63 per cent to Rs 543 crore in the third quarter, compared to Rs 552 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.

Its margin also slipped to 67.80 per cent in the quarter under review, compared to 68.94 per cent in Q3 FY23.

EBITDA was down by 3.36 per cent to Rs 368.2 crore in the December quarter compared to Rs 380.57 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

SJVN also declared an interim dividend of Rs 1.15 per equity share.

Geeta Kapoor, Director (Personnel), was given additional charge as Chairperson and MD.
