The Sensex and the Nifty finished the week about 5.0 per cent below their all-time highs of September 27. 

Among the most valued companies in the country, five cumulatively lost Rs 3.96 lakh crore in market capitalisation (mcap) in the four trading sessions. In other words, this is the amount of money that investors of these five blue-chip stocks lost during the period.

Reliance Industries | Weekly loss: 9.2% 

Reliance Industries was the biggest loser in the Sensex and Nifty50 baskets, falling 9.2 per cent for the week.

The steep fall brought down the conglomerate's market capitalisation by Rs 1.88 lakh crore to Rs 18.77 lakh crore, according to provisional exchange data.

HDFC Bank | Weekly loss: 5.4% 

HDFC Bank shares took a hit of 5.4 per cent for the week, with the private sector banking behemoth's mcap declining by Rs 72,919.6 crore to Rs 12.64 lakh crore.

Bharti Airtel | Weekly loss: 5.4%

Bharti Airtel shares also fell 5.4 per cent for the week.

The private sector telecom operator's market value fell by Rs 53,800.3 crore to Rs 9.34 lakh crore.

ICICI Bank | Weekly loss: 5.1%

ICICI Bank shares fell 5.1 per cent for the week, with the private sector lender's mcap falling by Rs 47,461.1 crore to Rs 8.73 lakh crore.

Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) | Weekly loss: 5.2%

State-run life insurer LIC's shares fell 5.2 per cent for the week, with the PSU's market value declining by Rs 33,490.9 crore to Rs 6.14 lakh crore.
