PVR Inox shares surge 6% amid good response to Kalki, new multiplex launch

PVR Inox Share Price NSE, BSE: Shares of PVR INOX surged over 6 per cent on Monday amid a good response to the latest multi-starrer movie - Kalki 2898 AD. The surge also comes as the company has also announced the opening of 4-screen Multiplex at Prism Mall, Hyderabad. With this launch, PVR INOX now operates the largest multiplex network with 1,757 screens across 362 properties in 113 cities (India and Sri Lanka).
The counter opened at Rs 1439.65 and gained further to touch the day's high Rs 1512.6 - a surge of 5.96 per cent from the previous close of Rs 1427.55.
"The Cinema features 4K laser projection, advanced Dolby ATMOS immersive surround sound and Next Gen 3D system," the company said in an exchange filing.
KALKI 2898 AD Box Office Collection
Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD, a star-studded multilingual 3D spectacle, has earned Rs 415 crore within three days of its global release, the makers announced on Sunday.
A blend of Hindu epic Mahabharata and science fiction, the big-budget film is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and was released on Thursday in six languages: Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and English.
"Kalki 2898 AD", mounted on a whopping budget of Rs 600 crore, features Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.

On the opening day, the movie earned Rs 191.5 GBOC and collected Rs 107 crore on Friday. It added Rs 152.5 crore for its day three collection on Saturday.
According to Prathyangira Cinemas, "Kalki 2898 AD" is running houseful in North America and has raked in USD 9.4 million at the local box office.
Previously titled "Project K", the film is reportedly the most expensive feature film in Indian cinema history. Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee and Shobhana also round out its cast.
