Stocks to watch: Benchmark indices, the BSE Sensex and the Nifty 50 continued their winning streaks for the fourth day in succession as they both ended trading on Wednesday on a higher note. While the Nifty 50 added 36 points to end the day at 19,611, the BSE Sensex gained 100 points to close at 65,880. At 08:28 AM, GIFT Nifty was trading 6.5 points, or 0.03 per cent higher at 19,631.5 levels, indicating a flat start for the domestic market on Thursday (September 7).

Small Cap World Fund Inc sold 20.26 lakh shares (0.54%) of the company at Rs 1880.28 apiece, while New World Fund Inc sold 26.77 lakh shares (0.71%) at Rs 1880.28 per share.

Oil stocks

Following the recent cut in domestic LPG prices, the central government may cut petrol, and diesel prices by Rs 3-5 a litre around Diwali given that key state elections start from November-December, JM Financial Institutional Securities said in a report.

Last week, the government cut the price of the domestic 14.2kg LPG cylinder by Rs 200/LPG cylinder for all 330 million consumers. Oil shares like ONGC, IOCL, and Oil India can be in the limelight on Thursday.

Global Vectra Helicorp, Yatharth Hospitals 

Global Vectra Helicorp and Yatharth Hospitals released their annual reports on Wednesday and can be in focus on Thursday.

Solar Stocks

Focusing on reducing carbon emissions and reducing the dependency on fossil fuel, the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved Rs 3,760 crore for the viability gap funding scheme for the development of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

Addressing the media after the Union Cabinet Meeting, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said: "The government has set a target that by 2030 we will have 50 per cent of the requirement fulfilled through non-fossil and renewable energy. Towards this, the government is serious, and we have achieved a number of targets before time, and today a big decision has been taken in that direction."

Solar stocks of companies such as Adani Green Energy, Solar Industries India, and WAA Solar Ltd. are expected to garner attention on Thursday.
