Stocks to watch: The NSE benchmark Nifty advanced over 33 points to close at a fresh lifetime high of 20,103, while the BSE Sensex ticked higher for the 10th straight session on Thursday, helped by fag-end buying in oil & gas, metals, and commodity stocks amid a largely firm trend in global equities.

After swinging between gains and losses throughout the session, the 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 52.01 points, or 0.08 per cent to settle at 67,519.

During the session, it jumped 304.06 points, or 0.45 per cent, to hit its all-time intra-day high of 67,771.05.

The Nifty advanced 33.10 points, or 0.16 per cent, to end at its all-time closing high of 20,103.10. 

At around 8:03 a.m. on Friday, September 15, the GIFT Nifty futures traded 51.9 points, or 0.26 per cent, higher at 20,238.5, suggesting a positive start to the market.

Infosys

The company has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with a global company to provide enhanced digital experiences, along with modernization and business operations services, leveraging Infosys platforms & AI solutions. 

Indian Hotels Company 

The company said in its regulatory filing that an agreement has been signed for a Taj Hotel in Frankfurt, Germany under an operating lease arrangement.

Siyaram Silk Mills

The company has raised its buyback price to Rs 720 per share. 

Titagarh Rail

Foreign brokerage HSBC has maintained a 'BUY' rating on the stock. It has raised the target price to Rs 900 from Rs 750 earlier.

HDFC Bank

Sensex and FTSE are slated for a rejig today. HDFC Bank Ltd. could see inflows of $600 million, as per reports.

Abbott India

Goa has warned the local unit of Abbott Laboratories (ABT.N) it plans to suspend the manufacturing licence of its antacid medicine after inspectors flagged contamination risks and sanitization issues at its factory, government documents show.

Strides Pharma

The company has received tentative approval from the United Nations Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for dolutegravir 50 mg tablet. Dolutegravir is an antiretrovirals and is used to prevent the multiplication of viruses in human cells.

Patel Engineering

The company, along with its joint venture partner, has been declared the lowest bidder (L1) for an irrigation project of Rs 249.96 crore from the Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation.

Oil India 

State-owned Oil India Ltd plans to invest Rs 25,000 crore in clean energy projects that will help it achieve a net zero carbon emission goal by 2040, its chairman Ranjit Rath said on Thursday. 

OIL's net zero plan includes a combination of cutting down the flaring of gas and commercialising stranded gas, as well as setting up renewable electricity generation capacity, building green hydrogen plants, and constructing biogas and ethanol plants.

LIC 

LIC on Thursday said it had sold 2 per cent of its holding in Sun Pharma for Rs 4,699 crore via an open market sale.

Following the share sale, there is a decrease of 2 per cent in holding during the period from July 22, 2022 to September 13, 2023.

"The corporation's shareholding in Sun Pharma has diluted from 12,05,24,944 to 7,22,68,890 equity shares, decreasing its shareholding from 5.023 per cent to 3.012 per cent of the paid-up capital of the said company," LIC said in a regulatory filing.

Maruti Suzuki 

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on Thursday said it has partnered with Indian Bank to provide financing solutions to its dealers.

The two parties have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will empower over 4,000 Maruti Suzuki dealerships across the country with comprehensive inventory funding options for their working capital requirements, the company said in a statement.

Tata Power 

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a leading renewable energy player and a subsidiary of Tata Power, said on Thursday that it had signed a Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) with Xpro India Limited, through a special purpose vehicle (SPV), for the development of a 3.125 MW AC Group Captive Solar Plant.

The company said that SPV should develop, operate, and maintain this captive solar power facility.

Located in Achegaon, Maharashtra, the plant is expected to produce 7.128 million units of electricity annually and will support the use of renewable energy for Xpro India’s polymer processing business.

Bharat Forge

Paramount, the leading global aerospace and technology company headquartered in the UAE, on Thursday announced a broadening of its development and manufacturing partnership with Indian industrial conglomerate, Bharat Forge Ltd and Kalyani Strategic Systems, to produce a wider range of armoured vehicles in India for Paramount’s global customers.

Vedanta Ltd 

Vedanta Resources on Thursday announced the appointment of Chris Griffith as its Chief Executive Officer for base metals and president of international businesses.

His appointment will be effective on October 2, 2023, the global metal and mining player said in a statement.

Vedanta Resources owns 68.11 per cent of its Indian subsidiary, Vedanta Ltd, which has significant operations in oil and gas, zinc, iron ore, aluminium, power, and copper.

Schneider Electric

Schneider Electric on Thursday approved the appointment of Udai Singh as an additional director, managing director, and chief executive officer (CEO) of the company for three years w.e.f. September 15, 2023.
