The Sensex declined 422.6 points, or 0.5 per cent, to end at 77,155.8 while the Nifty50 lost 168.6 points, or 0.7 per cent, to close at 23,349.9.

Coal Mine Auctions
NLC India and JSW Energy Utkal are among the five companies that have bagged five mines on the first day of the 10 round of commercial coal mine auction.
While ACC has bagged a coal mine in Madhya Pradesh, NLC India and JSW Energy Utkal have won one block each in Odisha.
Two other companies that won coal blocks are Mineware Advisors, and Shreeji Nuravi Coal Mining and Trading.
Tata Power
Tata Power has signed an initial pact with Asian Development Bank (ADB) to evaluate financing worth $4.25 billion for its several strategic projects.
The Tata group company has signed a memorandum of understanding at Baku in Azerbaijan in this regard. Read more
Investors stare at Adani group stocks
Adani group stocks will continue to be in focus on Dalal Street after US authorities indicted Gautam Adani, the conglomerate's chairman, over his alleged role in a $265 million bribery scheme.
On Wednesday, Adani group flagship Adani Enterprises' shares fell by Rs 637.7, or 22.6 per cent, to end at Rs 2,182.6 apiece on BSE.
The Adani group called the allegations "baseless".
The conglomerate has said it will seek "all possible legal recourse".
