The shares of NBCC opened in green today at Rs 159, a gain of Rs 1.35 from the previous closing of Rs 157.65 on the BSE. The counter gained further to touch the day's high of Rs 159.45 before touching the low of Rs 155.55 amid selling pressure. Around 4.99 lakh shares had exchanged hands at the time of writing the news. Last seen, the counter was trading at Rs 157.05.

The shares of the civil construction company, with a market cap of Rs 28,278 crore, have a 52-week high of Rs 176.50 and a 52-week low of Rs 38.10.

The stock has given a multibagger return of around 274 per cent in one year and 95 per cent in six months. So far this year, it has already gained around 91 per cent.

Meanwhile, state-owned NBCC has bagged a Rs 100 crore contract from Oil India to construct a centralised core repository with advanced laboratory facilities at Guwahati in Assam.

NBCC and OIL are also in the final stages of discussion for undertaking various other works, such as the execution of a hospital, group housing, guest house, installation of solar rooftop panels etc. In Assam. 

"The anticipated value of these works is Rs 900 crore approximately." 

In the recent past, NBCC has received a work order from Kochi Metro Rail Ltd valuing Rs 700 crore for developing 17.4 acres in Kakkanad and Ernakulam, Kerala. Similarly, NBCC will also be executing the construction of a boy's hostel for Hindu College, University of Delhi with an approximate value of Rs 70 crore.

The company will also be executing the construction of office-cum-training institute of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) at Khaitabad, Hyderabad with an approximate value of Rs 9 crore.
