Hindustan Unilever shares rise ahead of AGM; board to consider dividend

Hindustan Unilever (HUL), a leading consumer goods company in India, will conduct its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, June 26. The main agenda items of the meeting include the board of directors considering the final dividend for the financial year that ended March 31 and appointing directors in place of Nitin Paranjpe, Dev Bajpai, and Ritesh Tiwari.
"This is further to our letter dated April 27, 2023, wherein the Company had informed that the 90th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Company is scheduled to be held on Monday, June 26, 2023, through Video Conference or Other Audio-Visual Means, in accordance with the relevant circulars issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)," the regulatory filing read.
Further, Hindustan Unilever will consider appointing Ranjay Gulati as the Independent Director and Rohit Jawa as the Whole-time Director of the company. Rohit Jawa will also be considered for the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company.
At around noon, shares of HUL traded half a per cent higher on the BSE, snapping a five-day losing streak at Rs 2,656.05 apiece. The stock has lost over 2 per cent in the past five trading sessions. The stock made a 52-week high on December 9, 2022, and the company was listed on exchanges in 1995. The stock closed 038 per cent higher on BSE at Rs 2652.1 apiece.
