Hindustan Unilever (HUL) Q4 Result Preview: FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) is all set to report its financial results for Q4FY23 on April 27. According to Zee Business research, HUL is likely to report a stand-alone net profit of Rs 2537 crore for the quarter ended March 2023, which translates to a year-on-year increase of nine per cent. HUL board is also likely to announce a dividend for its investors alongwith the results.
The FMCG giant's revenue is estimated to have grown 14 per cent to Rs 15280 crore compared with the corresponding period a year ago.
The Mumbai-based company — whose popular brands include Surf, Taj Mahal, CloseUp, Dove, Horlicks, Red Label, Pepsodent, Rin, Lifebuoy, Ponds and Cornetto — is likely to report Rs 3581 crore in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the three month period, marking a rise of 11 per cent year-on-year.
HUL’s margin — a key measure of profitability for a business — is pegged at 23 per cent for the March quarter, having declined by 100 basis points compared with the year-ago period, according to the research.
According to the research, a 5-6% growth is expected in volumes, which is likely to be driven by demand in urban centres. The demand in rural areas is expected to fall by 4-5%.
The research highlights that EBITDA margins will be under pressure as the company has cut prices of certain products.
