HDFC Bank to announce dividend on April 15: Here's how much dividend the lender has paid in last 5 years

HDFC Bank will hold its board meeting on April 15 to announce its audited results and the much-awaited annual dividend. The board last declared a dividend of Rs 15.50 per equity share out of net profits on April 23 last year.
Barring 2020, the largest private lender in India has regularly paid dividends to its shareholders. The bank paid a dividend of Rs 6.50 in the year 2021, while in 2019, it paid a final dividend of Rs 15.00, and a special dividend of Rs 5.00 to its shareholders.
The bank's finances in the quarter ended October-December last year, were in a good state as it reported a strong set of results for the period.
According to a regulatory filing, the bank's net profit rose 18.5 per cent to Rs 12,259.5 on a year-on-year basis.
During the three-month period ended December, its net interest income, the difference between the interest earned and interest paid, jumped 24.6 per cent to Rs 22,987.8 crore.
HDFC Bank saw its core net interest margin at 4.1 per cent of total assets, while it was 4.3 percent based on interest-earning assets. During the period, there was no change in the bank's asset quality as its gross bad loans as a percentage of total advances were static at 1.23 compared to the July-September period last year.
The bank's non-performing assets were also unchanged on a quarter-on-quarter basis, at 0.33 per cent.
The company's total deposits soared 19.9 per cent on a year-on-year basis to Rs 17,33,204 crore as of December 31, 2022. During the same period, its balance sheet swelled 18.4 per cent to Rs 22,95,305 crore.
HDFC's share price closed on Monday at NSE at Rs 1666.35. With the board meeting just a few days away, investors have been keeping a close eye on its share price.
The stock rewarded its investors with a 14.4 per cent return in the quarter ended December 22.
The company last year announced that as of 31 March 2022, it had 6,342 branches and 18,130 ATMs/Cash Deposit and Withdrawal Machines (CDMs) across 3,188 cities/towns.
It was a significant jump since in the corresponding period of 2021, HDFC had 5,608 branches and 16,087 ATMs/CDMs across 2,902 cities/towns.
