Stocks to watch: The Indian equity market is expected to see a positive start to trading on Wednesday. At 08:30 am, the Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) traded 56 points, or 0.30 per cent higher at 18,867 levels.

HDFC, HDFC Bank, LTIMindtree: The effective date of the merger of HDFC Ltd and HDFC Bank has not been released yet, Zee Business reported. Besides, it is expected that LTIMindtree might replace HDFC Ltd in the Nifty50 index post-merger.
BSE: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has withdrawn its decision to shift the Bank Nifty expiry to Friday. The move is aimed at encouraging BSE's derivatives segments.
HDFC Life: HDFC Ltd has purchased 1.49 crore equity shares in the life insurance company at an average price of Rs 667.1 per share. The stake buy was worth Rs 992.64 crore.
Titagarh Railsystems Ltd. said on Tuesday it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited for designing and manufacturing 72 standard gauge cars for Surat Metro Rail. The order value is about Rs 857 crore.
Gland Pharma's Hyderabad unit has received one observation from the USFDA after inspection.
SBI Life: CLSA has maintained "Buy" on the stock with a target price of Rs 1,550.
Tata Motors: CLSA has maintained "Buy" on the stock. The target price stands at Rs 690, up from Rs 624 earlier.
Orchid Pharma: The pharma company has raised Rs 400 crore via QIP, as per Zee Business Research.
BPCL: The company is expected to discuss fundraising in its board meeting.
MCX: The company's board is expected to discuss the transfer of technology in its meeting.
