Share Market News August 9:  At around 7:00 am, GIFT Nifty futures - an early indicator of the Nifty50 index -  were up 253 points or 1.05 per cent at 24,390 ahead of opening on Dalal Street. Domestic equity benchmarks fell about 0.7 per cent on Friday as selling pressure in spaces like IT and energy outweighed buying interest in financial stocks. The Sensex lost 581.8 points to end at 78,886.2 while the Nifty50 settled at 24,117, down 180.5 points from its previous close. A bunch of stocks are set to be in focus on Friday, including Eicher Motors, Trent, Wockhardt, BDL Shipping Corp, BHEL, Equitas SFB, Kalyan Jewellers, and BPCL.

Eicher Motors 

Royal Enfield parent Eicher Motors reported a 19.9 per cent year-on-year increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 1,101 crore for the quarter ended June 30, exceeding analysts' expectations. 

According to Zee Business research, Eicher Motors was estimated to log a net profit of Rs 1,000 crore for the first quarter of FY25. Read more on Eicher Motors results
