Tata Chemicals, DCW and GHCL in focus: Here's why
Chemical stocks including GHCL, Tata Chemicals and DCW are seen to benefit amid the anti-dumping duty on imported soda ash.
DCW, Tata Chemicals, GHCL Ltd are in news in Friday's session (October 4) as antidumping duty may be imposed on soda ash imported from Türkey, Russia, USA and Iran. Anti-dumping is imposed on imported products to compensate for any differential between the export price and the actual product value.
Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) on the plea of the Alkali Manufacturers Association of India began with the investegiatio n as per Zee Business research inputs. The investigation spanned from October last year to March.
The authorities asked for input from all stakeholders within 15 days.
The duty is integral to the country, industry and players within the field as it safeguards the domestic economy from the effects of low-priced imports:
DCW is engaged in the chloro alkali and petrochemical industry. The company operates in three segments: PVC, chloro alkali and soda ash. The stock of DCW in the last one year has zoomed 86 per cent.
Meanwhile, Tata Chemicals in the last one year has gained over 10 per cent, while GHCL Ltd. has gained 8 per cent.
