D-Street Newsmakers: SAIL, Coal India, Maruti Suzuki among stocks that hogged limelight today

Indian equities, powered by a better Q3 GDP after marking a fresh record high, ended on a healthy note. Sensex ended with gains of 1245 points or 1.72 per cent higher at 73,745.35, while Nifty added 1.62 per cent or 355.95 points and settled at 22,338.75.

SAIL:

Shares of the PSU logged sharp gains of over 10 per cent to Rs 133.4 amid broader gains in the metal pack.

Maruti Suzuki:

Shares of the auto major ended higher by 3 per cent at Rs 11,608 as total sales surge 15 per cent year-on-year (YoY) in February 2024.

Coal India:

Coal India shares ended 2 per cent higher at Rs 446.35 as the company's coal production increased 8 per cent YoY in the previous month.

L&T:

Shares of the construction major ended over 4 per cent higher at Rs 3634.5 after bagging a major order from the defence ministry.

Ganesh Benzoplast:

Shares of the company gained 2 per cent and hit a price of Rs 192.4 as the company's board approved preferential share issue.

Suven Pharma:

Shares of the company ended over 9 per cent higher at Rs 690.05 amid a spurt in volume in the counter.

Tata Motors:

Shares of the company ended nearly 3 per cent higher at Rs 977.2 as the company's February sales rose 8 per cent YoY.

Shilpa Medicare:

Shares of the company ended nearly 1 per cent higher at Rs 420 as the company's Hyderabad facility cleared the USFDA inspection.

Kalyani Steels:

Shares of the company ended over 15 per cent higher at Rs 1038.45 per share.
 
Zomato:

After logging a fresh high, shares of the company ended 0.6 per cent higher at Rs 166.5.
