State-owned BHEL shares surged over 3 per cent on Monday as the company informed exchanges that it has bagged a thermal project worth Rs 10,000 crore from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC).
The counter opened gap up with a gain of 3.29 per cent today at Rs 327.70. The counter had closed at Rs 317.25 in the previous session on the BSE.
The stock of the company, which has a market of Rs 1,11,913 crore, has been gaining for the last six days and surged 9.07 per cent in this period. Also, the stock is 4.5 per cent away from a 52-week high of Rs 335.40. The 52-week low of the counter is Rs 94.80.

Shares of BHEL have given a positive return of around 22 per cent in one year and 41 per cent in two years. The counter has gained 12.52 per cent so far this year.

BHEL has bagged a thermal project worth Rs 10,000 crore. The 2x800 MW Koderma Thermal Power Station Phase-II project will be set up in Jharkhand, the company said in a regulatory filing.
The project has to be completed in 52 months and the size of the order is Rs 10,000 crore excluding taxes.
The work includes the supply of equipment - boiler, turbine, generator and associated auxiliaries along with electrical and C&I, Balance of Plant packages.
Besides, BHEL will do erection and commissioning, and civil works.
