Shares of precision engineering and manufacturing company Balu Forge hit a fresh 52-week high with the Sensex breaching the 85,000 mark for the first time ever and the Nifty nearing the 26,000 level.

The counter opened with a gain of 1.62 per cent, from the previous close of Rs 799.10, today at Rs 812 on the BSE. The counter surged further to touch the intra-day high of Rs 890, also a fresh 52-week high on the BSE. 

The 52-week low of the scrip is Rs 154.55. The counter has been gaining for the last two days and has risen 18.64 per cent in returns in the period.

The counter has given a multibagger return of around 315 per cent in one year and a whopping 1200 per cent in two years. 

Meanwhile, the 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 123.81 points to scale a fresh all-time peak of 85,052.42. The NSE Nifty also went up by 39.85 points to hit a new record high of 25,978.90. The benchmark is just 21.1 points away from breaching the historic 26,000 mark.

From the 30 Sensex firms, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Power Grid, HDFC Bank, Tata Motors and Larsen & Toubro were the biggest gainers.

Hindustan Unilever, Infosys, Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and UltraTech Cement were among the laggards.
