Stocks to watch today: The Indian equities could see a negative start to the trade on Thursday, June 1. At 08:17 AM, the Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) traded 57 points, or 0.31 per cent lower at 18,607. In the overnight trade, shares of large and mid-sized US banks sharply underperformed the broader market on Wednesday with the S&P 500 Banks Index closing down 2 per cent. In comparison, the benchmark S&P 500 Index fell 0.6 per cent with worries about commercial real estate loans in focus among bank investors. However, investors may react to the US debt ceiling bill being passed by the House with broad bipartisan support.

Auto sales: Shares of auto companies are expected to trade actively today as the automakers will release their May sales numbers.
Aviation stocks such as InterGlobe Aviation, and SpiceJet will be in focus today as the jet fuel prices have been revised. Jet fuel, also known as aviation turbine fuel (ATF), prices are revised on the 1st of every month based on the average international benchmark rate and foreign exchange rates. For June 2023, the ATF price has been reduced by Rs 95, 935.34 per kilolitre in the national capital, according to a price notification of state-owned fuel retailers. READ MORE
Coal India: The government on Wednesday proposed to sell up to a three per cent stake in Coal India Ltd through the offer-for-sale route from June 1. The Offer for Sale (OFS) will be open for retail and non-retail investors on June 1 and 2. The proposal is to offload 9.24 crore shares amounting to a stake of 1.5 per cent in the coal producer. Besides, there will be a green shoe option for selling an equal amount of stake in case of over-subscription, according to a regulatory filing.
PTC India: Power trading solutions provider PTC India has signed two agreements for the purchase of 215 MW of electricity on a long-term basis, the company's CMD Rajib K Mishra said.
Laurus Labs: The pharma company announced that it has signed definitive agreements to acquire an additional stake of 7.24 per cent in Immunoadoptive Cell Therapy (lmmunoACT), an advanced cell and gene therapy company for a cash consideration of Rs 80 crore.
Vedanta Ltd: Vedanta Resources Limited (VRL), the parent of India-listed Vedanta Ltd (VDL), on Wednesday, said it has cleared all its debt obligations for the ongoing quarter, which were estimated to be $1.7 billion. The minerals and mining major has thus pared $3.3 billion of debt within 15 months of setting a target to deleverage by $4 billion in three years.
Spandana Sphoorty: According to a report by The Economic Times, the founder of Spandana Sphoorty Financial Padmaja Gangireddy is planning to offload a part of her 14.5 per cent share in the microfinance company.
Gujarat Gas, GAIL: Saudi Aramco reduced its June LPG Contract Price (CP) for propane on May 30 to $450/MT (86.4 c/gal), down $105/MT (20.1 c/gal) from the May CP. Analysts say, as per news reports, this will have a negative impact on GAIL and Gujarat Gas.
