Ajanta Pharma, IOCL, Jio Financial Services, Balaji Amines, RVNL: Stocks to watch out for on Thursday
Stocks to watch: Ajanta Pharma said that it had received approval from the USFDA to market Topiramate extended-release Capsules. A report said that bumper earnings in the first five months of the current fiscal and international benchmark coming off its highs will help state-owned oil companies absorb the Rs 200 per cylinder cut in cooking gas LPG prices.
Stocks to watch: GIFT Nifty futures, an early indicator of the Nifty index, were up 7.5 points at 19,486 at 8:09 am on Thursday, August 31, having gyrated in a range of 51 points around the flatline earlier in the day, suggesting a flat to positive opening in the stock market.
On Wednesday, the Sensex and the Nifty gave up nearly all of their intraday gains amid fag-end weakness in financial stocks amid mixed global cues. The Sensex ended 11.4 points higher at 65,087.3 points and the Nifty settled with a gain of 4.8 points at 19,347.5.

Gas stocks
News agency PTI reported on Wednesday, citing sources, said that bumper earnings in the first five months of the current fiscal year and international oil rates coming off their highs will help state-owned oil companies absorb the Rs 200 per cylinder cut in cooking gas LPG prices, and that there may be no government compensation for that. Gas stocks such as IOCL, HPCL, Bharat Petroleum, Mahanagar Gas, Indraprastha Gas and Gujarat Gas will be in focus.
NMDC
State-run iron ore producer NMDC's shares will trade ex-dividend on Thursday. Earlier, the company had declared a dividend of Rs 2.85 per share.
Jio Financial Services
Shares of Jio Financial Services Ltd (JFSL) touched their upper circuit limit for the third consecutive day on Wednesday. The stock is recovering fast after a lacklustre show in the first week.
The Jio Financial Services stock gained five per cent to end at Rs 232.7 apiece and Rs 231.3 apiece on BSE and NSE, respectively.
Ajanta Pharma
Ajanta Pharma announced on Wednesday that it had received final approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to market Topiramate Extended-Release Capsules, 25 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg and 200mg.
Topiramate is a generic version of Supernus Pharmaceuticals Inc’s Trokendi XR™.
As per the settlement with the innovator, Ajanta can launch Topiramate on February 1, 2026 or earlier under certain circumstances.
Balaji Amines
Balaji Amines is set to report its quarterly results on Thursday. Three other companies—Parsvnath Developers, Sical Logistics and Envair Electrodyne— will also announce their results for the April period during the course of the day.
Piramal Enterprises
The buyback window for 1.45 crore shares will open today till September 6. The price is set at Rs 1,250 apiece.
IndiaMART InterMESH
The buyback window for 12.5 lakh shares will open today till September 6. The price is set at Rs 4,000 apiece.
FDC
The buyback window for 31 lakh shares will open today till September 6. The price is set at Rs 500 apiece.
KRBL
The buyback window for 65 lakh shares will open today till September 6. The price is set at Rs 500 apiece.
Sula Vineyards
Verlinvest Asia PTE may sell a stake of up to 12.56 per cent. The price range is likely at Rs 473- to Rs 508.7 per share. The block deal size will be 539.2 crore. VERLINVEST Asia PTE holds a 20.91 per cent stake as of Q1FY24.
Medplus Health
PI OPPORTUNITIES FUND (Premji Invest) and Lavender Rose together likely to sell an 8.1 per cent stake. PI OPPORTUNITIES FUND currently holds a 14.11 per cent stake in the company and LAVENDER ROSE INVESTMENT currently holds a 17.24 per cent stake in the company.
Dixon Tech / Netweb Tech
IT Hardware PLI Scheme received an overwhelming response, about 38 companies applied under PLI. According to IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav Rs 2430 crore investment is expected. Dixon Tech and Netweb Tech have applied for the scheme.
Zomato
Soft Bank sold 10 crore shares or 1.17 per cent stake. On the other hand, Societe Generale, BNP Paribas, Goldman Sachs, Nomura, Citigroup, Kotak MF, Axis MF, and many more bought stakes.
Spandana Sphoorty
Valiant Mauritius Sold its stake. On the flip side, Max Life Insurance Company bought 13.52 lakh shares at Rs 765 per share and KOTAK MAHINDRA LIFE INSURANCE - CLASSIC OPPORTUNITIES FUND ULIF bought 9.24 lakh Shares at Rs 765 per share.
BHEL
The company received an order from NTPC for 2x800 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Project Stage-II in Lara, Chhattisgarh.
RVNL
The company is declared as the L1 bidder from Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Work includes building, metro railway station, and track construction. The total cost of the project is Rs 256 crore.
Zen Tech
The company received an order worth Rs 72.29 crore from the Ministry of Defence.
Nazara Tech
The board will discuss raising capital on September 4 through preferential allotment by issuing equity.
MSCI changes
PFC, REC, Astral, Cummins, Ashok Leyland, Supreme Industries, IDFC First Bank, and HDFC AMC have been included in the MSCI index whereas ACC lost its spot.
Dreamfolks Services
The company tied up with a major Visa service provider. According to the agreement the company will provide premium lounges and doorstep visa services.
DCX Systems
The company entered into a joint venture agreement with ELTA Systems to develop radar and optics technology for the railway industry. ELTA Systems is a subsidiary of Israel Aerospace Industries DCX will initially hold a 100 per cent stake in the joint venture and later will hold 50.1 per cent of the Ordinary A shares.
