Weather office IMD has forecast an above-average monsoon reading of 106 per cent of the long-term average this year, indicating the likely development of La Nina conditions in the second half of the monsoon season.
A normal monsoon will help drive rural demand and benefit sectors like agrochemicals, fertilisers, tractors and FMCG, according to Motilal Oswal Financial Services.
The brokerage has listed five stocks that it believes are likely to benefit from a good monsoon season, including Cholamandalam Investment, Escorts and Emami.

Bajaj Finance share are off their intraday high, trading with a minor loss at this hour. The stock is down 0.8 per cent at Rs 7,135.2, having begun the day on a positive note by rising to as high as Rs 7,250.
Bajaj Finance subsidiary Bajaj Housing Finance has filed preliminary papers with capital markets regulator Sebi to raise Rs 7,000 crore through an IPO.

Chemplast Sanmar shares jump as much as 14.6 per cent to a 52-week high of Rs 562.4 apiece on BSE.
The stock is holding on to much of its intraday gain, trading up 12.6 per cent for the day at Rs 552.9 apiece at this hour.
As many as 68,000 Chemplast shares have changed hands in intraday trade so far, sharply higher than a daily average of 13,000 recorded in the past two weeks, according to BSE data.
