Share Market HIGHLIGHTS: Nifty slips to 19,732, Sensex settles 116 pts lower, falls for 3rd day dragged by financial stocks
Share Market HIGHLIGHTS: Geopolitical tensions continued to weigh on investor sentiment as domestic equities settled in negative territory for the third straight day on Monday, October 16. At close, the S&P BSE Sensex stood at 66,166.93 levels, down 116 points, or 0.17 per cent while the NSE's Nifty ended at 19,731.75, down 19 points, or 0.1 per cent. On the sectoral front, metal stocks gained the most. The S&P BSE METAL index rallied 1.37 per cent. Consumer durable stocks also gained in the trade.
In the broader market, the S&P BSE MidCap index rose 0.25 per cent while the S&P BSE SmallCap index ended 0.34 per cent higher.

Divi's, Nestle, TCS and IndusInd Bank are among the top losers, down around 1-2 per cent in the Nifty basket. On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp, JSW Steel, Tata Steel and LTIMindtree are among the top gainers, trading with gains of around 1-2 per cent.

Federal Bank Q2 Results | Standalone net profit jumps 35.5% to Rs 953.8 crore, NII up 16.7% at Rs 2,056.4 crore
The Kochi-based private sector lender reports a net profit of Rs 953.8 crore for the quarter ended September 30, as against a net profit of Rs 703.7 crore for the corresponding period a year ago.
Its net interest income, or the difference between the interest earned and the interest paid, increases 16.7 per cent on a year-on-year basis to Rs 2,056.4 crore, according to a regulatory filing.
The Federal Bank stock adds on to the day's gains after the earnings announcement, scaling a 52-week high on BSE. The stock strengthens by as much as Rs 3.1, or two per cent, to Rs 152.6 apiece on the bourse, surpassing an existing 52-week peak registered on October 3.

The earnings beat analysts' estimates. According to Zee Business research, the bank's quarter net profit was estimated at Rs 840 crore and NII at Rs 2,000 crore.

In the year-ago period, the figure stood at Rs 703.71 crore.
