Share Market HIGHLIGHTS: Domestic equity benchmarks Nifty 50 and Sensex ended in green on Thursday, October 5 amid strong buying interest in IT and financial shares. The S&P BSE Sensex ended 405.53 points or 0.62 per cent higher at 65,631.57, while the Nifty settled at 19,545.75, up 109.65 points or 0.56 per cent. Among broader indices, the Nifty Mid Cap 100 finished flat whereas the Small Cap 100 closed over half a per cent higher. The high-beta Nifty Bank index closed with a gain of 0.57 per cent at 44,213.45.

RBL Bank shares surge to touch a 52-week high on Thursday after the private sector lender said its retail advances rose 34 per cent on a year-on-year basis in the quarter ended September 30, 2023. The RBL Bank stock gained by as much as Rs 7.2, or 2.9 per cent, to Rs 256.6 apiece on BSE, surpassing an earlier 52-week peak scaled this week.
