Share Market Today LIVE | Market breadth continues to be in favour of bears as D-Street enters last hour of trade
Overall market breadth remains skewed in favour of the bears, with an advance-decline ratio of 4:8 on BSE as 1,714 stocks enjoy gains while 2,074 scrips struggle below the flatline on the bourse.
The advance-decline ratio on BSE 500, the broadest index on the bourse, stands at a worse 1:2, with 168 stocks in the 500-scrip gauge holding on to the green.
Motilal Oswal Financial Services, Hindustan Copper, Indian Bank and Union Bank of India are the top BSE 500 gainers, while SWAN Energy, Glenmark Pharma, Biocon and Global Health (Medanta) are the top losers.

Nirav Harish Chheda of Nirmal Bang Securities believes Mahindra & Mahindra shares to be in a consolidation phase. He recommends avoiding buying the stock at current levels till it overcomes resistance at Rs 1,550-1,575-odd levels.
One may consider buying after the upper end of the resistance range with a stop loss at Rs 1,540, he adds.

ONGC shares are left with an intraday cut of 0.4 per cent at Rs 196.1 apiece on BSE, having recovered much of its day's losses. Earlier in the day, the stock of the oil & gas major declined as much as 1.3 per cent to Rs 194.2 apiece.
While CLSA and Citi maintained a 'buy' call each on ONGC, they raised their targets for the stock to Rs 240 from Rs 225, and to Rs 230 from Rs 195 after the oil & gas firm's earnings announcement post-market hours on Friday.

Coal India shares gain by as much as Rs 15.7, or 4.7 per cent, to Rs 347.5 apiece on NSE, after Jefferies upgrades the stock of the state-run coal mining major to 'buy' from 'hold' and raises its target for the stock to Rs 385 from Rs 240.
CLSA, however, downgrades Coal India from 'buy' to 'accumulate' though with a raised target of Rs 330, instead of the Rs 270 earlier.
Citi maintains a 'neutral' call on Coal India and raises its target for the mining giant's stock to Rs 320 from Rs 260.

BSE shares gain by as much as Rs 147.9, or seven per cent, to Rs 2,273.9 apiece, and the CDSL stock by Rs 62.1, or 3.4 per cent, to Rs 1,897 apiece on NSE.
BSE reported a strong set of quarterly numbers on Friday, with a 3.5 times year-on-year jump in net profit and 54 per cent growth in revenue for the fiscal second quarter.
The exchange's margin improved in a big way, to reach 52.3 per cent in Q2, from 21.3 per cent a year ago.
