Closing Bell | Sensex leaps 600 pts to reclaim 61,000 mark, Nifty50 crosses 17,900 led by financial, IT shares
Both headline indices finish the day with gains of around one per cent. The Sensex rises 600.4 points to end at 61,032.3 and the Nifty50 settles at 17,922.9, up 152 points from its previous close.

Eicher Motors Q3 Results | Net profit jumps 62% to Rs 741 crore, meets analysts' estimates
Eicher Motors — the parent of motorcycle maker Royal Enfield — reports a net profit of Rs 740.8 crore for the quarter ended December 2022, up 62.4 per cent compared with the corresponding period a year ago.
Its revenue comes in at Rs 3,721 crore for the three-month period, up 29.2 per cent on a year-on-year basis, according to a regulatory filing.
Both topline and bottomline figures top analysts' estimates.
According to Zee Business research, Eicher Motors' quarterly net profit was estimated at Rs 734 crore and revenue at Rs 3,659 crore.
Oil India, Cyient, ELGI Equipments, Ircon top gainers in BSE 500 universe
City Union Bank, Poonawalla Fincorp, GR Infraprojects and NOCIL are also among the stocks that are rising the most among the 185-odd gainers in the 500-scrip universe.
On the other hand, Indiabulls Real Estate, Allcargo, RHIL, SPARC and Start Health are the worst hit in the broadest index on the bourse.

The 30-scrip index rises 518.4 points or 0.9 per cent to 60,950.3 at the strongest level of the day so far, and the Nifty50 climbs to as high as 17,905.9, up 135 points or 0.8 per cent from its previous close.
