Share Market HIGHLIGHTS: Nifty ends below 20,000, Sensex ends 94 pts higher amid volatility; TCS gains 3%
Share Market HIGHLIGHTS: Domestic equity benchmarks Nifty 50 and Sensex closed mixed on Tuesday, September 12. After a historic feat of Mt. 20,000, the Nifty50 slipped as investors rushed to book profit in recent outperformers. The S&P BSE Sensex closed with marginal gains after a volatile trading session.
At close, the S&P Sensex stood at 67,221.13, up 94.05 points, or 0.14 per cent, while the Nifty ended at 19,993.20, down 3 points, or 0.02 per cent. Among the Nifty50 stocks, 20 advanced and 30 declined. Broader market indices, Nifty Mid Cap 100 and Small Cap 100 saw heavy selling pressure after Kotak Institutional Equities said in its report that the relentless rally in the mid-and small-cap segments is nothing but irrational exuberance. Bank, auto, financial services, FMCG, and oil & gas counters also experienced selling pressure, whereas the IT index closed over 1 per cent higher. The pharma index ended 0.14 per cent higher.

TCS, L&T, Infy and UltraTech Cement are among the top gainers in the Nifty basket, trading with gains of around 3-1 per cent. On the other hand, BPCL, NTPC, PowerGrid and Adani Enterprises are among the top losers, down around 4-3 per cent.

Share Market Today LIVE | L&T Finance Holdings shares volatile after multiple block deals; Bain Capital likely seller
Shares of L&T Finance Holdings trade 2.07 per cent lower at Rs 127.95 on BSE, after multiple block deals of seven crore shares took place. Around 2.8 per cent of the company's equity changed hands in the block deals. As per reports, Bain Capital was expected to sell a 2.62 per cent stake in the company via a block deal at a floor price of Rs 129.72 per share. The deal size was estimated at Rs 850 crore. Read more
Share Market Today LIVE | Lupin shares hit 52-week high after drug maker signs business transfer pact with subsidiary
Lupin shares register sharp gains to scale a 52-week high on Tuesday, a day after the drug maker's board gave nod to a business transfer agreement with its subsidiary, Lupin Manufacturing Solutions, involving two API manufacturing sites at Dabhasa, Gujarat, and Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The Lupin stock gained by as much as Rs 46.4, or 4.1 per cent, to touch a record Rs 1,174.3 apiece on BSE, crossing an existing 52-week peak scaled last week. Read more

Share Market Today LIVE | L&T shares gain over 2.5% as the company increases its share buyback price
Construction and engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) shares rally as much as 2.52 per cent to Rs 2,967.05 apiece, a day after the company raised its share buyback price by Rs 200 to Rs 3,200. The company also announced that the maximum number of equity shares proposed to be bought back by the company has been reduced from 3,33,33,333 (three crore thirty-three lakh thirty-three thousand three hundred and thirty-three) fully paid-up equity shares to 3,12,50,000 (three crore twelve lakh fifty thousand) equity shares, representing 2.22 per cent of the total paid-up equity shares of the company.
