Share Market HIGHLIGHTS: Domestic equity benchmarks Nifty 50 and Sensex on Tuesday, August 22, ended flat amid concerns about China's economy and the US Fed's interest rate hike. The market participants will keep an eye on the US manufacturing Purchasing Manager's Index, or PMI, which will be released on Wednesday.
Back home, both indices closed 0.01 per cent higher. The S&P BSE Sensex was flat by 3.94 points at 65,220.03, and the NSE Nifty was flat by 2.85 points at 19,396.45. In the broader market, the Nifty Mid Cap 100 and Small Cap 100 indices ended on a strong note.

Welspun Enterprises Limited (WEL) gain more than 3 percent in Tuesday’s trade after the company acquired a 50.1 per cent stake in Michigan Engineers Private Limited (MEPL). The deal was completed on August 21 and has turned MEPL into a subsidiary of Welspun Enterprises. The company has been acquired from existing shareholders for an equity investment of Rs 137.07 crore, Welspun Enterprises said in a filing to the stock exchanges. Read more

The company announced that it has signed a licence agreement for two hotels under its "Lemon Tree Hotel" and "Lemon Tree Mountain Resort" brands in Bhubaneshwar and Kasauli, respectively. The Lemon Tree Hotel, Bhubaneswar, is expected to be operational by Q4 of FY 2025 and will be managed by Lemon Tree Hotels’ wholly-owned subsidiary, Carnation Hotels Private Limited. Lemon Tree Mountain Resort, Kasauli, is expected to turn operational by Q3 of FY 2026 and will be managed by the company itself. Read more

LIC owns a 6.66 per cent shareholding in Jio Financial Services Ltd. through a demerger action by Reliance Industries Ltd. Zee Business Analyst Kushal Gupta has a one-year 'buy' call on the Tata Motors stock with a one-year target price of Rs 750, implying an upside of 20.8 per cent from Monday's closing price.
