SGX Nifty will be known as GIFT Nifty from July 3, confirms NSE
The NSE informed today that all the necessary approvals have been obtained to change the name of the exchange. The SGX Nifty is a derivative of the Nifty index, which trades on the Singapore Stock Exchange.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) today (May 16, 2023) confirmed that the SGX Nifty will be known as the GIFT Nifty from July 3 onwards.
With the NSE's go-ahead, all SGX orders will be transferred to GIFT City, Gandhinagar, which means that the entire business of the SGX Nifty will be transferred from its office in Singapore to the capital of Gujarat.
The NSE informed today that all the necessary approvals have been obtained to change the name of the exchange.

Received essential approvals
The NSE said that it has received approvals from the MAS Singapore Regulator, IFSCA, GIFT, and IFSC regulators, for the name change and its shifting from Singapore to Gandhinagar.
