Bihar and Kerala on Saturdayhave become the new entrant in the list of states that are selling petrol for RS 100 and above. As per Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), petrol prices in Bihar's Patna and Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday, June 26, are Rs 100.14 and Rs 100.09 respectively. Similarly, after the revision in rates on Saturday diesel is being retailed at Rs 93.99 and 95.19 in Patna and Thiruvananthapuram respectively.

Petrol price had already crossed psychological barrier of Rs 100-mark in as many 9 states and union territories—Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha and Ladakh.   

Petrol and diesel prices are revised every day and effected at 6 am daily. Earlier, this morning Domestic Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) increased the petrol and diesel prices by 31 to 37 paise in the 4 metro cities—Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.

Delhi:  Petrol: Rs 98.11 per litre | Diesel: Rs 88.65 per litre. 

Mumbai: Petrol: Rs 104.22 per litre | Diesel: Rs 96.16 per litre   

Kolkata: Petrol: Rs 97.97 per litre | Diesel: Rs 91.50 per litre   

Chennai: Petrol: Rs 99.19 per litre | Diesel: Rs 93.23 per litre 

It is to be noted that the prices of petrol and diesel depend on number of factors, including the taxes imposed by central and state governments and price of crude oil in the international market.

Those who are planning to fill their tanks can know indicative prices of fuel (Petrol/Diesel) in their city/town for the day. All they have to do is to send SMS "RSP <space>Dealer Code of Petrol Pump” to 92249 92249. For example, SMS “RSP 102072” to 92249 92249 for petrol and diesel prices in Delhi.  You can get dealer code from IOCL website.
