After a pause in fuel rates for a day on Monday, petrol and diesel prices have been increased again on Tuesday, June 29 . As per Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), petrol and diesel were hiked by around 35 paise and 28 paise respectively across four metro cities. The government Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) revise fuel prices daily and these rates are affected at 6 am in the morning.

Continuous rise in crude oil in global market has been directly affecting the petrol and diesel prices.  Earlier on Monday, Oil prices climbed to record highs last seen in October 2018 as the United States and Iran wrangled over the revival of a nuclear deal, delaying a surge in Iranian oil exports, while investors eyed the outcome of the OPEC+ meeting this week.  Brent crude for August had gained 22 cents, or 0.3%, to $76.40 a barrel by 0051 GMT, while US West Texas Intermediate crude for August was at $74.30 a barrel, up 25 cents, or 0.3%, as per Reuters.  

Earlier, the fuel rates were increased on Sunday for the second consecutive day after deciding not to alter the prices on Friday.  

Petrol and diesel prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai on June 29, 2021 

DELHI – On June 29, Petrol price was at Rs 98.81, while Diesel Price was at Rs 89.18.   

MUMBAI - Petrol price was at Rs 104.90, while Diesel Price was at Rs 96.73 on Tuesday.   

KOLKATA - Petrol price was at Rs 98.64 and Diesel Price was at Rs 92.03 as on June 29.  

CHENNAI – Petrol price was at Rs 99.80, while Diesel Price was Rs 93.72.
