Petrol and diesel prices were once again hiked on Monday, July 12. It must be noted that the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) release the prices of petrol and diesel on a daily basis.
Petrol and diesel prices were once again hiked on Monday, July 12. It must be noted that the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) release the prices of petrol and diesel on a daily basis. Petrol and diesel prices are revised on daily basis since June 2017 and are effected at 6 AM daily. Earlier, the practice was to revise the prices fortnightly. Fuel rates vary from state to state, depending on the incidence of local taxes such as value-added tax (VAT) and freight charges.

After once again increased on Monday, the prices of petrol and diesel in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore as per IOCL websites are as follows:
Delhi - The price of petrol is Rs 101.19 per litre and the price of diesel is Rs 89.72 per litre
Mumbai - The price of petrol is Rs 107.20 per litre and the price of diesel is Rs 97.29 per litre
Kolkata - The price of petrol is Rs 101.35 per litre and the price of diesel is Rs 92.81 per litre
Chennai - The price of petrol is Rs 101.92 per litre and the price of diesel is Rs 94.24 per litre
Bengaluru - The price of petrol is Rs 104.58 per litre and the price of diesel is Rs 95.09 per litre
Apart from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru. The price of petrol is Rs 109.53 per litre in Bhopal and the price of diesel is Rs 98.50 per litre in Bhopal.
Those planning to fill their tank can get the indicative prices of Petrol/Diesel in their city/town by sending an SMS "RSP <space>Dealer Code of Petrol Pump” to 92249 92249. For example, SMS “RSP 102072” to 92249 92249 for petrol and diesel prices in Delhi. You can get dealer code from IOCL website.
