Petrol and diesel prices on July 17: Check latest rates in your city

Petrol and Diesel Prices Today: The price of Petrol and Diesel remained constant today. The last change in country-wide fluctuation in fuel prices was witnessed on May 21 when the Centre cut the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and by Rs 6 per litre on diesel. The public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs) including Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) change the prices daily in line with international benchmark prices and forex rates. Changes in petrol and diesel costs are implemented at 6 am every day. 

Himachal Pradesh Recent Increase in VAT  

The Himachal Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced an increase in the value-added tax (VAT) on diesel. The state in a bid to enhance revenue increased VAT on diesel by Rs 3 per litre to Rs 10.40 per litre.
