The data reported the standard gold rate for the day, likely to vary slightly subject to individual cities.
In Delhi, the gold price of 22-carat is Rs 46,950 per 10 grams and per 10 grams of 24-carat is Rs 51, 210. While in Mumbai, the rates are the same as the standard ones, that is, Rs 46,950 per 10 grams of 22-carat gold while for 10 grams per 24-carat is Rs 51, 210.
In Ahmedabad, the rate per 10 grams of 22-carat gold is Rs 47,000 and for 10 grams of 24-carat gold is Rs 51,260. Similarly, in Chennai, it is Rs 46,890 per 10 grams of 22-carat gold and Rs 51,150 per 10 grams for 24-carat gold today.
Gold was flat on Monday, as a towering US dollar put pressure on demand for greenback-priced bullion and pinned it near nine-month lows seen last week, as the dollar climbed back towards its highest level in about 20 years hit on Friday, the Reuters report said.
Precious metal marked a fourth straight weekly loss on Friday, having hit its lowest since late September a few sessions prior, hurt by the dollar`s ascent and bets for steep interest rate hikes gaining traction after healthy US jobs data.
Benchmark US 10-year Treasury yields steadied near the previous session`s over one-week high, weighing on gold. Higher interest rates and bond yields increase the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding bullion.
