Zee Business Commodity Editor Mrityunjay Kumar Jha was on Wednesday conferred with the Voice of Jewellery Industry award by the All India Gem And Jewellery Domestic Council, a national trade federation for the promotion and growth of trade in gems and jewellery across the country.

Jha received the title in the presence of around 2,000 jewellers.

Also known as GIC, the trade federation represents the interests of over six lakh gem and jewellery businesses from across the country, including industry segments such as manufacturers, retailers, and wholesalers.

The association has been set up with the objective of addressing the industry, its functioning and its cause with a holistic approach to promote and progress its growth.

GJC undertakes a host of initiatives and programmes aimed at improving industry business practices, and promoting compliance, standardisation, transparency, and professionalism for the growth and development of the industry sector.

It also organises various promotional activities to further retail businesses as well as manufacturing segments through various dedicated platforms designed for the purpose.
