Edible Oil: The government's strictness on edible oil and oilseeds continues as central teams are conducting raids in different parts of the country. These steps are being taken to prevent hoarding related to edible oil. Raids are being conducted on wholesalers, refiners, stockists, and retailers. Zee Business Ambrish Pandey reports.

Pandey said the central teams are continuing raids in Maharastra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. These raids started at 2 pm today. Apart from that random raids will also start in the rest of the four states, he added.

These raids are being conducted to check malpractice and hoarding related to edible oil. After receiving continuous complaints, a fresh action has been started by the government, according to Pandey, the government said that it is necessary to check whether the benefits of inflation-controlling decisions are passed on to the common man or not.

Pandey further said the government was getting complaints that customers were not getting the benefits of inflation-controlling decisions. Zee Business also gave these inputs to the governments. At the same time, the complaints portal which the government had created, was constantly getting complaints on the same that there is a big difference between what the government is saying and the ground reality, said Pandey. The government is saying that Rs 18 have been deduced from the old price, whereas there is a difference of Rs 2 - Rs 3 on the ground. So to find out the reality, the government is conducting these raids to investigate these things, Pandey added.

Zee Business had said that the government is continuously monitoring to check that the benefits of inflation-controlling decisions are passed on to the common man and more such steps can be seen in the future, Pandey said.
