Sensex closes higher, global shares up; Nifty seen at 11,700-12,000 range this week

Benchmark stock indices were trading high during the afternoon session on Tuesday, lifted by gains in metals and PSU bank stocks, after opening higher. Nifty ended at 11,960.90 points, up 38.20 points or 0.32 percent, while Sensex closed 158.5 points or 0.40 percent higher at 39,943.02 points.
