Surging for the second straight session, the Indian markets closed on Thursday on a higher note amid positive global cues. At the end of trading, the 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 56,857.79 with a gain of 1041.47 points. On the other hand, NSE Nifty50 closed at 16,929.60 with a gain of 287.80 points.
