Final Trade: Nifty ends near 15,700, Sensex surges by 700 points; banking lead the rally

The stock market may have started sluggishly today but at the time of closing, there was a strong rally. Sensex and Nifty saw a rise of about one and a half percent. The Sensex gained 708.18 points and the index closed at the level of 59,276.69. Apart from this, the Nifty 50 index saw a rise of 205.70 points and this index managed to close beyond the level of 17600.
