Headline indices Sensex and Nifty will likely open on a positive note in Thursday's (August 22) session. At around 7:00 am, GIFT Nifty futures, an early indicator of the Nifty50 index, were up 86 points or 0.35 per cent at 24,884 ahead of opening on Dalal Street.
