Over a dozen companies on Wednesday witnessed shares changing hands in bulk deals. Among the noticeable transactions that happened today, Authum Investment & Infrastructure Limited bought 200,000 equity shares in Veto Switchgear Cable Ltd at Rs 99 per share, according to data available on the NSE.

Similarly, individual investors such as Manjeet Cotton Private Limited sold 35,00,000 equity shares in Sintex Industries Ltd at Rs 13.3 per share, and Piyushkumar Thumar sold 3,03,000 equity shares in Bright Solar Limited at Rs 5.25 per share on the NSE, as per the bulk deals data.

Guttikonda Rajasekhar bought 1,75,000 equity shares in Goldstone Tech Ltd at Rs 88.97 per share and Lakshmi Guttikonda Vara bought 5,16,126 equity shares in Megasoft Limited at Rs 60.35 on the NSE, the bulk deals data mentioned. 

Shrenik  Sudhirbhai  Vimavala, Chairman and Managing Director of Shrenik Limited sold 1,60,76,698 equity shares in the company at Rs 2.06 per share on the NSE.

A deal where the total quantity of shares bought or sold is greater than 0.5 per cent of the share capital of the company is called bulk deal. It can be transacted either through the normal trading window or through the block trading window. 

Extending gain for the second straight session, the Indian markets closed on higher note amid buying interest across sectors and on the back of positive global cues. Sensex gained over 600 points, while Nifty50 close above 16950-mark, led by support from pharma, metal and banking indices.  

Of 50 scrips on Nifty, 42 advanced and 8 declined at the market close. Hindalco became the top gainer, up almost 4 per cent, followed by Tata Motors up over 3.5 per cent. Similarly, Divis Lab and Bajaj Finance grew over 3 per cent at the market close on Wednesday.
